Section 6
Formulating land use plans

(1) Before formulating the land use plan, the government of Nepal, the state government and the local level should prepare a long-term land use plan by studying the land conditions, population growth rate, food and housing needs, increase in demand for land for economic development and infrastructure construction, etc.
(2) _ Ministry of the long-term land use plan according to sub-section (1) and related economic, "social; A federal land use plan should be prepared and approved by the federal land use council on the basis of infrastructure development and other issues.
(3) The state government should prepare a state-level land use plan based on economic, social, infrastructure development and other issues under its state. (4) According to sub-section (3), while formulating the provincial land use plan, it should be approved by the provincial land use council and implemented in such a way that it does not conflict with the federal land use plan.
(5) Each local level shall prepare a local land use plan based on the land use area map and the economic, social, infrastructure development and other issues within its area so as not to conflict with the federal and state level land use plans.
(6) The land use plan prepared according to subsection (5) shall be approved by the local land use council and implemented.
(7) When preparing the land use plan according to sub-section (5), the local level may prepare separate plans for rural and urban areas as per the need.
(8) When preparing a land use plan, the following areas should be prepared:-
(a) Occhygic Corridor,
(b) Special Economic Zone,
(c) National Project,
(d) Interprovincial spread projects,
(e) Natural and material heritages of national importance worthy of protection, (f) Places of religious and cultural importance with international identity and humanitarian faith, (g) Areas with schools or other educational areas, roads, health institutions, irrigation canals or canals, (h) ) Sensitive places from the point of view of national security, (i) disaster prone areas, (h) safe areas for environmental sanitation and biological diversity protection, (k) other essential areas. (9) Other arrangements related to land use planning shall be as prescribed.
